Reflections: A Retrospective Exhibition of Kazimieras Simanonis

Kazimieras Simanonis, one of the first professional jewelers in Lithuania, has extended the conception of a modern adornment in several aspects. He returned to jewelry art its lost prestige of crafts and at the same time strengthened the approach to adornment as a form of expression of the artist’s individuality. The virtuosity of the craft and the experimentation with materials and new technologies have become the credo not only of this artist but also of other jewelers in Lithuania. K. Simanonis’ adornments close to mini sculpture speak of his attempts to strive for the connections with a wider context of jewelry art.
